KBP Calabarzon Chapter Commemorates 125th Independence Day with a Meaningful Event
The KBP Calabarzon Chapter, along with several organizations, organized an event at the PNP Museum in Camp Crame, Quezon City, to commemorate the 125th Philippine Independence Day, featuring representatives from various departments paying tribute to OFWs, highlighting Dr. Jose P. Rizal's overseas work, and promoting Philippine tourism, all while reflecting on the values of liberty, democracy, and national unity.
Quezon City, June 10 - The Kapisanan ng mga Broadkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) Calabarzon Chapter, in collaboration with the Manila Times, The Filipinos World, and The Maharlikan Order of Tigers, came together to honor the significance of the 125th Philippine Independence Day. The commemorative event took place at the prestigious PNP Museum in Camp Crame, Quezon City.
Distinguished representatives from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) attended the event to pay tribute to the unsung heroes of our nation, the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs). Highlighting their invaluable contributions to the country, the speakers emphasized the vital role OFWs play in advancing the welfare and progress of our nation.
The DMW further emphasized the connection between the celebration and our national hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal, who once served as an OFW himself, working abroad as a doctor. This poignant connection serves as a testament to the enduring spirit of sacrifice and dedication exhibited by our fellow Filipinos around the globe.
In addition to honoring the achievements of our OFWs, the representatives from The Department of Tourism (DOT) presented an exciting incentive program aimed at encouraging Filipinos to actively participate in promoting the country's exceptional tourist destinations. By engaging citizens in this endeavor, the program seeks to foster a sense of national pride and encourage exploration and appreciation of our rich cultural heritage.
KBP Calabarzon Chapter Chairman, Mr. Roy Bato, alongside Ms. Agnes Alimbog of The Filipinos World, expressed their profound gratitude for the hard-fought freedom we enjoy today.
