Quezon City, June 10 - The Kapisanan ng mga Broadkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) Calabarzon Chapter, in collaboration with the Manila Times, The Filipinos World, and The Maharlikan Order of Tigers, came together to honor the significance of the 125th Philippine Independence Day. The commemorative event took place at the prestigious PNP Museum in Camp Crame, Quezon City.

Distinguished representatives from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) attended the event to pay tribute to the unsung heroes of our nation, the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs). Highlighting their invaluable contributions to the country, the speakers emphasized the vital role OFWs play in advancing the welfare and progress of our nation.

The DMW further emphasized the connection between the celebration and our national hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal, who once served as an OFW himself, working abroad as a doctor. This poignant connection serves as a testament to the enduring spirit of sacrifice and dedication exhibited by our fellow Filipinos around the globe.

In addition to honoring the achievements of our OFWs, the representatives from The Department of Tourism (DOT) presented an exciting incentive program aimed at encouraging Filipinos to actively participate in promoting the country's exceptional tourist destinations. By engaging citizens in this endeavor, the program seeks to foster a sense of national pride and encourage exploration and appreciation of our rich cultural heritage.

KBP Calabarzon Chapter Chairman, Mr. Roy Bato, alongside Ms. Agnes Alimbog of The Filipinos World, expressed their profound gratitude for the hard-fought freedom we enjoy today. They emphasized the importance of Independence Day as an occasion to reflect upon the sacrifices made by our ancestors and to reinforce the core values of liberty, democracy, and national unity that shape the Filipino identity.

The event also witnessed the presence of distinguished representatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP) who underscored the significance of our independence in preserving peace and security within our nation. Furthermore, cultural performances by the talented T'boli tribe added vibrant colors to the event, showcasing the diversity and richness of our Filipino heritage.
