The Kapisanan ng Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP), the esteemed association of broadcasters in the Philippines, successfully celebrated its 51st anniversary on April 25, 2024, at the Manila Golf Club in Makati City. The event, themed "Empowering People’s Voices and Aspirations," was attended by distinguished members from the country's expansive network of over 227 television stations and more than 700 radio stations.

Roy Bato, President of the KBP CALABARZON Chapter, expressed pride in the organization’s evolution amidst the digital revolution, emphasizing efforts to adapt by enhancing social media platforms. "This anniversary not only marks over five decades of exceptional service but also our commitment to thrive in a digitally-driven world," stated Bato.

The event was a gathering of the nation's leading media figures and honored previous recipients of the prestigious "Ka Doroy Award," which recognizes journalists who have significantly contributed to Philippine journalism. Esteemed awardees such as Kabayan Noli De Castro, Angelo Castro Jr., and Korina Sanchez were mentioned for their lasting impact on the industry.

KBP Chairman Ruperto Nicdao Jr. reiterated the organization's pledge to remain a bastion of truth and an advocate for social rights. "We stand firm in our mission to deliver responsible broadcasting across the nation," said Nicdao.

The highlight of the evening was the address by House Speaker Martin Romualdez, who praised the KBP for its steadfast role in combating misinformation and affirmed legislative support for the media industry's growth without compromising national integrity.

Noel Galvez, President of the KBP, in his report, reinforced the organization’s objectives to uplift community voices and ensure media's role as a conduit of truth in society.
